NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release - July 23, 2014 Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant Announces 2.5% Production Increase in H1 2014 Chelyabinsk, Russia - July 23, 2014 - Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant (LSE, MICEX: CHZN), Russia's largest producer of zinc and zinc alloys, is pleased to announce its production results for the six months, ended June 30, 2014. Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant (CZP) produced 87,649 tonnes of salable SHG zinc and zinc based alloys in H1 2014, an increase of 2.5% as compared to H1 2013 (85,489 tonnes). 52.7% of metal was supplied to the domestic market (H1 2013: 70.8%). CZP's affiliated company, Nova Zinc LLC, operator of Akzhal zinc and lead ore mine in Kazakhstan, produced 17,936 tonnes of zinc in zinc concentrate in H1 2014, 13% more than in H1 2013 (15,839 tonnes). Lead in lead concentrate production increased by 29% to 3,026 tonnes (vs. 2,345 tonnes in H1 2013). CZP's subsidiary, The Brock Metal Company Limited (the leading UK supplier of zinc die-casting alloys) sold 15,886 tonnes of zinc alloys in H1 2014, an increase by 31% as compared to H1 2013 (12,084 tonnes). About Chelyabinsk Zinc PlantChelyabinsk Zinc Plant is the leading Russian zinc producer. In 2013 the plant produced 166,357 tonnes of saleable SHG zinc. According to consolidated IFRS accounts, revenue in 2013 was RUB 13,062 mln and EBITDA was RUB 1,077 mln.
