July 21, 2014

WASHINGTON (Alliance News) - Crude oil prices are lower Monday morning, despite lingering concerns about the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.

Crude oil futures for August delivery are down USD0.22 or 0.21% at USD102.91 a barrel.

On Friday, crude oil futures ended slightly lower at USD103.13 a barrel, after having jumped 2% a session earlier.

Natural gas for August is down USD0.097 or 2.46% at USD3.854 per million btu.

Besides looking ahead to the official crude inventory data due on Wednesday, traders will be looking ahead to some crucial US economic reports this week, including the data on existing and new home sales data for June and the weekly jobless claims data, as well as the Labor Department's consumer price inflation data. At 8:30 am ET today, the Chicago Federal Reserve is scheduled to release its national activity index.
