July 21--Daily Journal
Artist Marcella Rose is hosting an open art studio from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 26. Her studio-home is located on Prairie Lake, just north of Pelican Rapids, at 43005 Hwy. 59.
Rose, a native of Ortonville, lived and worked in several western locales, including Phoenix, Kansas City, Spokane and Santa Fe, prior to returning to the Upper Midwest several years ago.
Following a diverse career in commercial art, advertising and product design, she now focuses on the creation of fine art, particularly oil paintings, sculpture and jewelry design. Her work is featured at galleries around the Upper Midwest and Pacific Northwest, including Boerth's in Fargo and Forest Edge near Vergas. She has been featured in several area publications within the past year.
The July 26 open house will feature, and have available for purchase, a number of Rose's original paintings, as well as cast jewelry designs and a nationally-recognized bison sculpture. Smaller prints and note cards based on some of her most popular paintings will be available as well.
Visitors can also enjoy refreshments and register for door prizes.
