Muscat: In keeping with the spirit of giving and donating during the holy month of Ramadan, the Information Technology Authority (ITA) is continuing to raise awareness about the Donations Portal for Charitable Organisations. This portal greatly simplifies the act of making donations to a charity of one's choice by offering the opportunity to citizens and residents to do so online.

Choosing from many participating charity organisations in the Sultanate, the portal makes it easy to donate with a single click from anywhere and at any time. And yes, contributions made via the website do directly benefit the selected charity.

The ITA invites all citizens and residents in the Sultanate of Oman to donate to these aid organisations via the donations portal.

The bilingual online portal (www.donate.om) is designed on the principle of transparency, convenience, simplicity and user-friendliness.

The Donations Portal's guiding principles allow citizens as well as the residents of the Sultanate to make direct donations using their bank credit cards to the respective bank accounts of the charitable organisations.

Security steps

High priority was accorded to the security aspect, ensuring that all transactions are carried out accurately and safely within seconds through the closely monitored portal to protect people's interests. As an alternative, donors now also have the option to donate via a mobile app, which can be easily downloaded from the online portal and the Android Google Playstore. Both the portal and the app support humanitarian efforts for charity by eliminating any issue of time and distance, using technology.
