Kyrgyzstan : EBRD to provide $5 mln to advance energy efficiency in KYRGYZSTAN

Kyrgyz Investment and Credit Bank (KICB) has announced the signing of an agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on delivering $5 million worth of loan within the Kyrgyz Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (KyrSEFF) program.

KICB got $3 million in 2013 as division of the first credit line within the KyrSEFF program. KICB, given the success of this project and the strong demand from the borrowers, submitted an application to the EBRD for new funding within KyrSEFF.

KICB chairman Kwang Young Choi commented "The second credit line on KyrSEFF program shows the commitment of KICB to promote energy efficiency initiatives in Kyrgyzstan."

Under the agreement, KICB will continue the program of delivering loans and grants KICB's customers in order to advance energy efficiency of buildings, commercial objects and energy infrastructure.
