Brazil : EMBRATEL introduces Virtual Data Center service

Embratel, Brazil-based operator has announced the launch of a Virtual Data Center service, backed by a new platform that unites computing resources like processing and server memory with elements such as storage and networking.

The new service is targeted at firms from various segments. It also aims to provide features such as high connectivity, security, boosted speed of delivery, scalability, cost reduction, operational facilities and infrastructure.

Through the Embratel Customer Portal, the Virtual Data Center is administered and managed by the customer. However, the customer is able to choose to hand the management of their operating system and database to Embratel.

In addition, Embratel declared a unified solution that expands IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) and combines cloud computing technologies.
