BRIEF: Big Band Night tonight

July 17--It's Big Band Night tonight with the Aberdeen Municipal Band, which will adopt the standard jazz band format for the occasion.

The band will feature five saxophones, four trumpets and four trombones, plus piano, guitar, bass guitar and drums.

The vocal soloists will be the brother-and-sister duo of Patty Kirkpatrick and Bob Kiesz.

The concert begins at 8 p.m. at Melgaard Park.

Kirkpatrick will solo on "Blue Skies," "Cry Me a River," "How High the Moon," "Misty" and "How Sweet It is."

Kiesz will solo on "Fly Me to the Moon" and "It Had to Be You."

Also this evening, Michael Jilek will play tenor saxophone on "Day by Day."

Other selections without vocals are "Pick Up the Pieces," "Don't Get Around Much Anymore," "Take the A Train" and "You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To."
