July 16--VIRGINIA BEACH -- The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts has released its 2014-2015 season, featuring R&B/soul singer Smokey Robinson, country artist Wynnona Judd, singer-songwriter Steve Earle and an array of other acts.

The most surprising entry in the lineup, released today, is an April 21 date for a live version of the television game show "The Price is Right" that is touring the country.

The show will be staged as it is on TV, with contestants selected and real prizes given, but it will not be broadcast.

The Sandler also has scheduled another showcase like its popular offering last year from the television reality show contest "So You Think You Can Dance." On Feb. 13 "Dancing Pros Live" will feature talent from four much-watched shows, including "Dancing With the Stars" and "The Voice."

Comic offerings include humor writer David Sedaris on Oct. 25, and standup comic Kathy Griffin Feb. 17.

For the season-opening show on Sept. 18, Steve Earle will share the stage with another noted singer-songwriter, Shawn Colvin, both guitarists with a rich stash of material. On Oct. 1, singer-songwriter Amos Lee will play his eclectic mix of folk, rock and soul.

World arts events include Mystic India, a Bollywood-style dance spectacular, on Feb. 6.

Regional acts will be featured in the intimate Miller Studio Theatre, including the Virginia Roots Ensemble on March 5, presenting jubilee-style gospel quartet music that originated in Hampton Roads.

Starting this season, the Sandler Center is only giving ticket discounts through its membership program, which ranges from $25 for students up to $1,000 for the most exclusive category, which offers such perks as meeting the artists following a concert.

Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m.Aug. 15. Call (757) 385-2787 or visit www.sandlercenter.org.
