IWM, FNY: Big ETF Outflows

Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM), where 23,200,000 units were destroyed, or a 9.7% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of IWM, in morning trading today Intermune (ITMN) is off about 2%, and Prosperity Bancshares (PB) is lower by about 1%.

And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the First Trust Mid Cap Growth AlphaDEX Fund (FNY), which lost 450,000 of its units, representing a 23.1% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of FNY, in morning trading today Salix Pharmaceuticals (SLXP) is up about 0.9%, and Skyworks Solutions (SWKS) is up by about 0.2%.
