Handset maker HTC of Taiwan expects a sharp increase in revenue from India as it turns from being a maker of high-end devices to one present in all price bands. HTC will have a special focus on affordable phones. It is confident of steep revenue growth in India due to the success of `Desire 816' and some low-end smartphones. HTC has increased its presence in India, updating its smartphone portfolio frequently with devices at various price points. With a view to boost sales, the company will also consider launching a Rs5,000 smartphone in India. The company is targeting 15 percent market share in India in the next 24 months, from 4-6 percent now.
