The tobacco company is being bought by rival Reynolds American for $27.4 billion in cash and stock. If regulators approve the deal, it will combine the No. 2 and No. 3 U.S. tobacco makers.


The biotech company struck a deal to license its technology to GlaxoSmithKline that's used by medical researchers to delve deeply into the construction of proteins to create enzymes used to battle disease.

Plug Power

FBR Capital Markets predicted the stock could hit $8 within a year. The money-losing company has a long-term contract to supply Wal-Mart distribution centers with battery-powered forklifts.
