The Kombo East Youth and Children Development Alliance Cooperative Credit Union (KEYCDACCU), a youth and child led cooperative credit union have disbursed food items in the form of soft-loans to its members, amounting to D138, 000 at a ceremony held at the Alliance's office in Kuloro.

The disbursed items included gallons of cooking oil, bags of onions and bags of sugar, among others.

Omar Bah, KEYCDA board chairperson said the disbursement of the items is meant to assist members in the month of Ramadan, as he urged the beneficiaries to ensure maximum utility of the package. He reminded the members to repay the loans at the right time so that others can also benefit from the same opportunity.

The treasurer of the credit union, Tida Jallow noted that the items were provided from the credit union's revolving fund, with interest free. This, she added, will enable their members to take care of their family members and children during the Muslim feast of Koriteh.

The credit union manager, Wandifa Kanyi underscored the importance of the support, saying it will not only encourage their members to be saving, but also other people within the area to join the credit union. He seized the opportunity to urge members of the credit union to pay their loan, so as to enable others to access the same opportunity.
