Florida Consumers Have Until Aug. 1 to File Claims in the $310 Million DRAM Memory Chip Price-Fixing Settlement

July 14, 2014

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., July 14 -- The office of the Florida Attorney General issued the following news release:

Attorney General Pam Bondi encourages consumers wishing to file a claim in the $310 million DRAM Price Fixing Settlement to do so by the Aug. 1 deadline. The settlement resolves a price-fixing lawsuit against a dozen Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) manufacturers. Consumers and businesses are eligible to file a claim if they purchased electronics containing DRAM between 1998 and 2002. DRAM is a high density, low cost, memory component that stores digital information and retrieves data at high speed. DRAM is either sold separately or pre-installed in electronic devices such as computers, graphics cards, video game consoles, MP3 players, printers, PDAs, DVD players, and digital video recorders.

Purchasers of large amounts of DRAM or DRAM-containing electronic products could receive thousands of dollars depending on the number of devices purchased. The minimum payment for smaller purchases of DRAM or DRAM-containing electronic products is expected to be $10. However, the actual payment amount depends on the total number of claims filed, and payments could exceed $50.

"This settlement could provide monetary relief to nearly every Florida consumer and business that purchased computers, printers, and other electronic devices from 1998 to 2002," said Attorney General Pam Bondi. "I encourage eligible consumers to file a claim by the August 1 deadline in order to receive what is owed to them."

Claims can be filed online at www.DRAMclaims.com.
