BRIEF: Thomasville offers free Thursday evening concerts

July 15--Sunset Sounds, a free concert series, will be at 7 p.m. each Thursday today through July 31 at the Bandstand on West Main Street in Thomasville.

The schedule includes:

July 17: Big Daddy Mojo (blues, rock, R&B). The Winston-Salem band is composed of Brett Munn on vocals, guitar and harmonica; Lance Lucas on lead guitar and vocals; Brian Beatty on drums; and Andy McHone on bass.

July 24: Ken Davis and Steve Lindsley, also known as Acoustic Blend (rock, folk, funk, top 40, reggae, pop, R&B). The two play covers and originals.

July 31: The Bahama Mamas (reggae, calypso, Jimmy Buffet). Davidson County's all-female steel drum band works with Tracy Thornton of Greensboro to make music with an island flair.

Picnics, blankets and chairs are welcome. No alcohol allowed.

In case of bad weather, the concerts will be moved to the Loft on Main, 11 E. Main St.
