Sen. Brown Applauds Administration's Appointment of Mahoning Valley Resident to Key Advisory Committee

WASHINGTON, July 11 -- The office of Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, has issued the following news release:

Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) applauded the White House's appointment of a Mahoning Valley resident and former Cincinnati resident to a key advisory committee. Anita Lin, of Youngstown, was appointed as a Member to the Advisory Committee on the Arts for the John F. Kennedy Centerfor the Performing Arts. Brown had recommended Lin for the position.

"Ms. Lin has excellent experience in the performing arts and will do well advising the Administration on such matters," Brown said. "Her appointment is a testament to the creativity and talent of Ohio's citizens and their ability to lead."

Lin is currently the Director Emeritus of the Ballet Western Reserve in Youngstown, where she also previously served as Artistic Director and Executive Director. Also in Ohio, Lin danced for the Cincinnati Ballet Company and received a Bachelor in Fine Arts (B.F.A.) from the University of Cincinnati.
