ERDC-CERL has a requirement to procure the following: - Refurbished Roboocyte automated Oocyte screening system manufactured by Multichannel Systems. Automated system for injecting cDNA/mRNA into oocytes, subsequent TEVC recording, and perfusion paradigms. Twenty-four (24) h operation without supervision. About 1000 oocyte injections per day, screening of 500 oocytes per day. Throughput of 20.000 compounds per year with one setup. Complete Oocyte Screening System, version with 16 valve perfusion prot including main device, microscope, including PC and accessories; 16-channel valve system with Teflon-coated tubes, 19 quote mark TFT monitor, automation and control software. Roboocyte Hardware: robotic platform 40x40 cm, mounting support for 96-well plates, 2 independent z-drives for injection, TEVC and in-between wash. The required item of supply is critical for the rapid and high throughput discovery of chemical compounds that at as ligands to g-protein coupled receptors. The instrument offers automated and rapid electrophysiological screening with 24 hour operation without supervision and may screen in excess of 1000 chemical compounds per day. The instrumentation will aid in the discovery of attractants and deterrents for novel management tools for threatened and endangered species or invasive/nuisance species on DOD lands.
