Ahmet Davutoglu meets with Uzbekistan's Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade

The Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu who stays in Tashkent on the official visit.

The sides discussed further development of mutually beneficial economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Basis of the legal framework of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey is formed by a series of intergovernmental agreements: (i) on promotion and protection of investments, 28 April 1992; (ii) on avoidance of double taxation of income, 8 May 1996; (iii) on trade and economic cooperation, 13 April 1998; etc.

In 2013, the volume of trade turnover amounted to $1.35 million, including $896.8 million of exports, and $450.1 million of imports.

Currently, 485 enterprises with the participation of Turkish investments operate in Uzbekistan.
