China's Xiaomi has unveiled its first handset, Mi 3, for the Indian smartphone market. The Mi 3 is priced at Rs14,999. The handset will be available for pre-booking from next week. The company is expected

to bring the Mi 3 in partnership with Flipkart, who will sell the handset through its platform. The Mi 3 runs on a customised Android user interface (UI), MIUI V5. It will have a 5-inch full HD 1080p LCD touch display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 2.3 gigahertz (GHz) processor, Adreno 330 450 megahertz (MHz) GPU, 2- gigabyte (GB) RAM, and eMMC 4.5 flash memory of 16 GB. The smartphone has a 13-megapixel (MP) rear camera and a 2-MP front camera, and a 3050 milliampere hours (mAh) lithium-ion battery. Both cameras support HD video recording.
