ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 10 -- Roche Diagnostics Operations, Indianapolis, has been assigned a patent (8,770,482) developed by four co-inventors for an "apparatus and method to administer and manage an intelligent base unit for a handheld medical device." The co-inventors are Friedrich Ackermann, Heidelberg, Germany, Blaine Edward Ramey, Indianapolis, Robert P. Sabo, Indianapolis, and Manfred Augstein, Mannheim, Germany.
