Post Office profits jump to £107m

? The government-owned Post Office saw profits soar 14 per cent to 107m last year, despite a 55m fall in revenues to 1.2bn, it reported yesterday. The revenue drop was due in part to a 10m reduction in the firm's state subsidy. The results cover the challenging period of industrial action led by the Communication Workers Union last year which was in protest at the closure of larger Crown Post Office branches, resulting in 14 national strikes.
