Martin Currie Pacific Trust Chairman Gifford Retires; Wells Succeeds

LONDON (Alliance News) - Martin Currie Pacific Trust PLC Thursday said its Chairman Patrick Gifford has now retired, after 15 years as a director of the trust.

Gifford has been succeeded by Harry Wells, said the company.

Last week, the trust said its performance over a 13 month period was disappointing, as its net asset value fell by 10.7% and its share price by 8.8%, compared with a 5.0% fall in its benchmark.

Shares in the trust were up 0.3% at 278.75 pence Thursday afternoon.
