E-publication Revenue Grew Sharply in 2013

BEIJING, July 10, SinoCast -- China's operating revenue from publishing, printing and distribution services hit CNY 182.464 million in 2013, growing CNY 16.111 million over a year earlier, according to the Chinese Academy of Press and Publication.

Total profits hit CNY 144.02 billion, growing CNY 12.28 billion over 2012. A total of 444,000 kinds of books were published, growing 30,000 kinds over 2012.

In a significant drop in several indictors in paper publications, the published e-publications grew greatly and the proportion of e-publication revenue in the industry's total has continued to grow. Operating revenue from digital publications hit CNY 254.04 billion, growing CNY 60.49 billion over 2012. Operating revenue from online music and online animation surged 1.5 times. Operating revenue from e-books, online periodicals and digital papers grew merely 7%.
