Biotechnology Industry Organization Unveils BizLink

July 2, 2014

The Biotechnology Industry Organization has reported the launch of BIO BizLink.

In its release, BIO said that it is powered by OnDeckBiotech.

"BIO BizLink fills a critical need for today's life sciences industry," said Jim Greenwood, President and CEO of BIO. "This resource will allow biotech and pharma companies to save valuable time and resources by quickly and easily identifying qualified vendors for upcoming projects."

"We're excited to bring this valuable resource to our cluster," said Russell Allen, President and CEO of Georgia BIO. "It's not uncommon for a biotech to spend weeks searching for and evaluating vendors for a particular service - those delays can cost tens of thousands of dollars in overhead and become a significant distraction to the scientific team. BIO BizLink reduces this administrative friction and we expect it accelerate innovation."

On BIO BizLink, vendors maintain a company profile, including an overview of services, reviews provided by past clients, introductions to key personnel and background documents such as brochures and facility tours.

BIO BizLink was developed and launched as a cooperative effort by BIO, BIO state and regional affiliates and OnDeckBiotech.

Accordingly, members of BIO and BIO state and regional affiliates receive certain privileges through the platform not available to non- members, including discounts and expanded access to the platform's Dedicated Advisors.

Affiliates include:

-Colorado Bioscience Association

-Delaware Bio

-Georgia Bio

-Indiana Health Industry Forum

-Montana Bioscience Alliance

-Virginia Bio
