The award is significant for various reasons, according to Elsesser.
"First, it means that our employees are doing a really good job, especially the workers," he said. "It means they're working safe, they're working smart."
"Second, it means the management staff is doing a good job of maintaining a positive and safe atmosphere," Elsesser said.
He said he appreciated the employees for working "safer and smarter."
"A lot of effort by a lot of people ultimately will help us do our jobs in a more cost-efficient manner," said Elsesser.
According to him, it has been several years since the town received an award from CIRMA.
"We got an award probably 10 or 12 years ago from CIRMA, but it wasn't quite the same thing," said Elsesser.
