June 6, 2014

A Portland software firm that works with architecture and engineering firms has changed hands.

Herndon, Virginia-based Deltek acquired Axium, one of the region s quickest-growing companies earlier this decade. Particulars of the deal weren t directly revealed.

Axium works with above 2,200 architecture and engineering firms. Deltek works in the same space.

Axium settled on the Business Journal s Private 100 list in 2012 when it reported approximately $11 million in revenue.

Owners Alan and Cathy Mills sold the company to top execs Chris Heim and Dan Mayleben, along with two other groups, in 2013.

Heim said, Deltek and Axium are market-leading software companies that have a very unique focus: accelerating and improving the core business processes of architecture and engineering firms .

We couldn t envision a better match for our company than combining our solutions and expertise with Deltek, a company that shares our unwavering commitment to the A&E industry.
