Sen. Warner Introduces Bill to Extend Exclusion of Certain Employer-Provided Educational Assistance

WASHINGTON, June 6 -- Sen. Mark R. Warner, D-Va., has introduced legislation (S. 2429) to "amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to extend the exclusion for employer-provided educational assistance to employer payment of interest on certain refinanced student loans."

The bill was introduced on June 4 and was co-sponsored by Sen. John Thune, R-S.D.

The legislation was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
