June 06--BETTENDORF, Iowa. -- Dora the Explorer and Diego are out seeing the world. One of their stops is the Family Museum.

The interactive exhibit Dora and Diego -- Let's Explore, which features characters from "Dora the Explorer" and "Go, Diego, Go!" will be in Bettendorf until Sept. 14.

Designed for those 8 and younger, adventurers will join Dora, 7, and her cousin, Diego, 8, in places seen in the shows, and learn a little Spanish in the process. In Dora's world, children will play, find solutions, and take care of animals and the world around them.

Here are some of the destinations:

n Rocket Ship: Friends of Dora from outer space want to go home. Preschoolers can pilot the ship, test their memories, and put on a spacesuit.

n Purple Planet: This is the home of Dora's outer space pals. Earth children can take a slide to the surface of this new world.

n Isa's Flowery Garden: Isa the Iguana will teach how to take care of animals, flowers, and plants. Kids can pretend to fly wearing butterfly and bird wings.

n Pirate Ship: Here pirate pigs welcome fellow pirates who can "sail" the ship and share in treasure. There's even a telescope to see the seas ahead.

n Rainforest Maze: Children can find animals in the forest. The action involves a crawl through a fallen tree, a chance to swing on monkey bars, and a hop over the River Rocks.

Adults who visit may just wish they were still 4, as several exhibits revolve around the world of "pretend." In Mei's Shoe Store, the roles of customer and sales clerk are open for the imaginative. Here's a chance to find the right size and style of footwear.

Or go to the post office and assist Maria in getting the mail out. Children who haven't learned to read yet can play by use of photos.

At Dr. Harriet's Vet Clinic, visitors take care of the patients. They go over X-rays, examine stuffed animals, and get every one back on the road to health.

All this work can create an appetite, so the next step has got to be Sal's Pizza. While visitors only can pretend to eat here, they can make and bake, serve orders, and may even get a call to deliver a pizza.
