June 6, 2014

June 06--Wear white. Drink white.

Foundry Vineyards will host its annual WOW -- White on White -- event Saturday at the tasting room, 1111 Abadie St.

Live salsa music from Eddie Manzanares and Cafe Blanco will be performed, while Taqueria Mi Pueblito sells tacos and other food items in the winery's sculpture garden.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and music starts at 7 p.m. The event is free for wine club members. Nonmembers pay $20 and receive their first pour as part of the price.

The winery's White on White will be poured. The wine is described as "an enticing nose of citrus blossoms. After the initial nuances of honey, lemon and wet stone hit the palate, they are immediately followed by a refreshing acidity. This allows for a unique range of food pairing options. The wine continues to excite through the mid-palate, mellowing slightly with subtle mineral notes resulting in a elongated finish."
