United States : PORT OF MILWAUKEE announces 5.4% rise in NET INCOME

The Port of Milwaukee has announces 5.4% rise in its net income last year.

The annual report has been unveiled by the facility, indicating that it made $1.4 million in 2013. Acting port director Paul Vornholt says 2014 is also shaping up to be a strong year.

The figures indicates enhanced cargo from both Great Lakes and international freighters -- plus cargo from the rail lines that run via the port.

Actually, though, much of Milwaukee's port revenue comes from leases on its 467 acres. The Coast Guard and the Navy lease property there and also, the Lake Express ferry and the Milwaukee Art Museum, among others.
