June 05--Journey "under the sea" with Ariel and her aquatic friends in AC4TA's children's theater summer production of Disney's "The Little Mermaid Jr." Performances are Friday and Saturday, June 27 and 28 at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, June 29 at 2 p.m.

Reserved seating tickets are $11 for adults and $6 for students/children (a $1 sustainability fee is included in the price of each ticket).

A Center for the Arts' Fergus Theatre is at 124 W. Lincoln Ave., downtown Fergus Falls. For more information, stop by our box office, call us at 218-998-ARTS (2787) or visit www.FergusArts.org.

Some of the main parts will be played by Danelle Hubert (Ariel), Lidia Stevens (Queen Triton), Bradley Moore (Prince Eric), Jamie Olson (Ursula), Sam Ihrke (Sabastian), Isabelle Kremeier (Flounder), and Alyse Fiedler (Scuttie); however this musical has a cast of more than 110 area youth.

Hit songs such as "Part of Your World," "She's in Love," and the Oscar-winning "Under the Sea," are featured in this play for young performers.

In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home -- and her fins -- behind and live in the world above.

But first she'll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking.

Audiences have been falling in love with the little mermaid since Hans Christian Andersen first set her down on paper nearly two centuries ago.

Based on the 1989 Disney film, this children's theater adaption has music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, music adapted and arranged by David Weinstein, and is from the book by Doug Wright.

"The Little Mermaid Jr" is sponsored in part by Victor Lundeen Company, the Inga M. Johnson Endowment Fund, and Ten Mile Lake Resort & Steakhouse. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

Disney's "The Little Mermaid Jr" is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. 421 West 54th Street, New York, NY 10019. Phone: 212-541-4684; Fax: 212-397-4684; www.MTIShows.com
