ISTANBUL (CIHAN)- Nearly 500 photographers from around the world will be coming to Turkey in autumn to participate in the 32nd edition of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) congress and an international photography fair which will be held in Ankara and Cappadocia, respectively.

A joint effort between the Paris-based federation and the Photographic Arts Federation of Turkey (TFSF), the fair and congress will take place between Sept. 1-7 as part of a week-long program. The first three days of the event will take place in the Turkish capital, according to a press release from the TFSF.

Participants will not only follow the conference program but also enjoy sightseeing tours both in Ankara and Cappadocia. As part of the International Photography Fair, which the event's press release describes as the world's "Olympics of Photography," the FIAP 2014 Black and White Biennial and the exhibition "Best of the Best" will be on display.

On the third day of the program, the participants leave for Cappadocia with a stop-off near Lake Tuz, where a photo opportunity has been organized for participants. During the rest of the program, the attendees will have several such opportunities around Cappadocia.

The program also aims to enable participants to come together in future collaborations. At the end of the program, an album featuring photos by the attendees will be compiled and sent to them, Turkish cultural attachÉs' offices and the cultural ministries of foreign countries.

It was decided to hold the event in Turkey after a vote at the 31st FIAP congress in Singapore, where Turkey beat strong candidate countries such as India, Norway and South Korea.
