Sharp Laboratories of America Assigned Patent for Liquid Crystal Display

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 30 -- Sharp Laboratories of America, Camas, Washington, has been assigned a patent (8,760,600) developed by two co-inventors for a "liquid crystal display includes a backlight that provides light and selectively modifies the transmission of light from the backlight to the front of the display." The co-inventors are Lieven Verslegers, La Jolla, California, and Xiao-fan Feng, Camas, Washington.
