Miniature painting workshop concludes at PNCA

Miniature painting workshop arranged by Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) concluded here at the National Art Gallery on Sunday.

More than 25 students from various Universities and Art Institutions of the twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad availed the opportunity for being student of the legendary teacher in field who has been working for the promotion of this delicate art form and has the credit to launch the first degree program.

Prof. Bashir Ahmed exposed the art to the participating students and shared with them the traditional techniques in the field.

The objective of the workshop was to introduce miniature painting to the young students and create their interest in the field.

Certificates were distributed amongst the participants of the workshop.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director General of PNCA, Mashhood Ahmad Mirza thanked Prof. Bashir Ahmed and said that he is a faculty himself and we would try to take more and more benefits from his experiences to further promote the miniature art for which he has devoted all his life and his dedication and guidance will take the new generation to the heights of professionalism.

I salute his struggle and consistency for the subject, said renowned artist, painter, sculptor Jamal Shah, adding that I have been the student of Prof. Bashir Ahmed and know his dedication, struggle and the kind of energy he has put for establishing the faculty,.
