June 30--WARRENSBURG -- A warm evening of free music brought hundreds to West Pine Street for the second performance in the Summer Concern Series on Friday.
Warrensburg Main Street sponsored the event that had children and adults dancing to the music of the T. Ross Band.
Main Street Executive Director Julie Turnipseed kept a watchful eye on activities, talking about the weather being perfect and activities for children. Among activities, children, including Mahira Blevins, 6, got to play with hula hoops.
Restaurant owners catered to the crowd, setting up tables outdoors to serve food and drinks.
Overall, the event had the look and feel of a family picnic.
"This is great for the community," Chamber of Commerce Chairman Dan Houx said at the event. "It's a great turnout. I applaud Main Street for this and the chamber supports it."
