New Mobile Version, Enhanced Automation, and Expanded Content Aid
Industry’s Transition to Value-Based Care
InterQual Mobile, the first mobile version of McKesson’s
InterQual content, is now available at no additional cost. Payers and
providers can get anytime, anywhere access to InterQual Level of Care
Criteria and InterQual Behavioral Health Criteria via iOS or Android
smartphones or tablets. InterQual Mobile’s tap-and-go menus help speed
clinical documentation and medical necessity administration with
roaming access to evidence-based decision support wherever and
whenever it’s needed.
InterQual Behavioral Health Criteria has been revised to align
with the latest DSM-5™ (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental
Disorders), the common language clinicians use to communicate about
patients and diagnose mental disorders. Applied Behavior Analysis
(ABA) criteria subsets for autism spectrum disorders were added to
Child Psychiatry. The most significant upgrade to InterQual’s
Behavioral Health Criteria in over a decade, the new content features
modified terminology, updated subset titles and added conditions.
InterQual Acute Criteria’s condition-specific content subsets
were updated and refined to improve usability and navigation, and to
support more efficient, consistent reviews. Changes include
streamlining episode days, adding greater specificity in some general
criteria subsets including Nursery and Antepartum/Postpartum, and
expansion of the responder criteria.
InterQual Molecular Diagnostics Criteria updates make it the
best in class at keeping pace with the explosive innovation in
molecular diagnostics today. The criteria set now covers 680 tests,
including 25 new tests added this year. McKesson is committed to
helping its customers keep pace with the speed of change in this
rapidly growing field.
InterQual 2014 Criteria and software with associated ICD-9 codes
were updated to support ICD-10 compliance. The change from ICD-9
to ICD-10 was complete a full seven months in advance of the original
(and now extended) CMS deadline. The update will expand the number of
codes used to describe why a patient sought care and how they were
treated from 20,000 to over 155,000.
InterQual 2014 Criteria and CareEnhance®
Review Manager are available within Cerner and Epic’s EMR software.
In addition, InterQual is integrated with 26 other McKesson
Alliance partners, including 3M, AllScripts, EXL Landa, Horizon
Enterprise Visibility, McKesson STAR, MedHOK, Morrisey, Midas+,
Trizetto and ZeOmega.
