Finance Minister receives China International Capital Corporation Chairman

Manama, June. 2. (BNA) Finance Minister and the Minister in Charge of the Oil and Gas Affairs Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa met here today the Chairman of the China International Capital Corporation Ltd and Head of the Working Group for the Establishment of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Liqun and the accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to Bahrain.

They explored joint cooperation relations in the financial and economic areas and emphasised the importance of preparing all the necessary factors to promote and develop bilateral relations. The Head of the Chinese delegation explained the Chinese initiative of establishing the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank aiming to develop the infrastructure and support the development process in the Asian countries in various sectors, like energy, telecommunications, airports, housing projects, bridges, roads and logistics. The meeting was attended by the Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Information at the Ministry of Finance Ismail Abdulnabi Al Marhoon, Assistant Undersecretary for the Development of Public Revenues at the Ministry of Finance Rana Faqihi, a number of the officials at the Ministry and Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain Li Chengwen.
