After Successful Debut at CES 2014, OptimizAIR 2.0 to Be Deployed for First Time in Home Routers; Edimax Customers to Benefit from Greater Control for a Superior Home-Networking Experience

RA’ANANA, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Celeno Communications, a leading provider of high-performance Wi-Fi chips and software for home networking applications, today announced the first deployment of its latest breakthrough airtime management technology – OptimizAIR 2.0 – in Edimax’s new, high-end home routers powered by Celeno’s CL2200 802.11ac Wi-Fi radio chip.

Unique in the field, OptimizAIR 2.0 enables the provisioning, enforcement and dynamic allocation of Wi-Fi capacity to different virtual networks, services and even different clients all served by the same Wi-Fi Access Point. The result is an optimized home Wi-Fi network that can ensure the highest quality of service no matter how many W-Fi enabled devices are competing for bandwidth.

“Wi-Fi Airtime management is the key to help service providers and consumers manage their ever more challenging home networks,” said Lior Weiss, VP Marketing and Business Development at Celeno. “We’re excited to be partnering with Edimax to see OptimizAIR 2.0 designed into home routers giving the end-user such unique, yet extremely easy to manage and intuitive control over their home networking experience.”

The new Edimax routers will also come with the new OptimizAIR™ Wi-fi Experience Management Android and iPhone/iPAD Apps that empower the end-user to intuitively control the prioritization and bandwidth allocation of different streams and devices at home from their tablet or smartphone.

“Edimax has always been committed to providing a superior experience for the end-user, and the growing number of wireless-enabled devices and bandwidth hungry applications makes this a continuing challenge,” said Jack Hung, Sales Director of Edimax. “Celeno’s OptimizAIR 2.0 technology revolutionizes in-home wireless networking by providing the capability to actually manage capacity allocation in the air for best user experience. Matching this Access Point capability with mobile application dashboard enables a unique and innovative user experience.”

Celeno will be showcasing OptimizAIR 2.0 in action at Computex in June 2014.
