April Central Bank Funds Outstanding for Forex Grows Slower

BEIJING, June 3, SinoCast -- The People's Bank of China (PBOC) revealed funds outstanding for foreign exchange of CNY 27.2995 trillion in April 2014, increasing CNY 84.589 billion from CNY 27.2149 trillion recorded by March end, being the tenth month to record growth, but with growth slowing down under CNY 100 billion for the first time since August 2013.

The April growth of funds outstanding for foreign exchange for central bank is far less than CNY 174.126 billion in March, which is similar to the situation for financial institutions. April growth of funds outstanding for foreign exchange for financial institutions released by central bank reached CNY 116.921 billion, narrowing from CNY 198.297 billion in March.
