ANA Calls for Multicultural Excellence Entries

The ANA (Association of National Advertisers) is accepting entries for its 14th annual Multicultural Excellence Awards. The awards recognize marketers and their agencies for outstanding multicultural advertising campaigns, and will be presented in Miami Beach, Fla., in November.

"Multicultural marketing is increasingly integrated in mainstream marketing, and ANA's Multicultural Excellence Awards celebrate the most creatively outstanding and effective work produced in African-American, Asian, Hispanic and LGBT marketing," Bob Liodice, president and CEO of the ANA, said in a news release.

Entry criteria

Campaigns must have appeared between June 2013 and June 2014. ANA member and nonmember companies, or agencies and media companies submitting on behalf of their clients, may enter the awards.

Winners will be chosen based on the creativity of the campaign and relevancy to the targeted segment, according to the release.

The campaign must demonstrate quantifiable business results across the categories of Digital Marketing and Media, Outdoor, Print, and Radio or TV.

This year's categories include Hispanic, African-American, LGBT, people with disabilities and total market. The latter two categories are new.

Companies and agencies are encouraged to submit multiple entries within a category or across multiple categories.

Media companies are welcome to submit on behalf of their clients. This year, entrants in all categories can enter the Significant Results category.

A portion of the proceeds from submission fees go to fund scholarships for high-potential multicultural students planning to pursue careers in advertising and marketing.

The deadline for submissions is Aug.15. Winners will be announced at the ANA's Multicultural Marketing & Diversity Conference, Nov. 9-11 in Miami Beach.

The awards are sponsored by ANA's Multicultural Marketing Committee, which was established in 1998 to help ANA members share knowledge and best practices in the area of multicultural marketing.
