EY today announced the appointment of Ahmed Al Esry as the new Office Managing Partner in the Muscat office. Ahmed has been with the organisation's Oman practice for 15 years. In his previous role he led EY's tax advisory practice, with a focus on oil and gas entities in Oman. He also has extensive experience in both audit and advisory with multinational and local companies.

As the Office Managing Partner of Oman, Ahmed will be responsible for leading the practice and determining the strategic direction of EY in the Sultanate.

Ahmed will continue to lead the Graduate Development Program at EY for Omani nationals in line with his commitment to supporting local talent. Throughout his career at EY, Ahmed oversaw the Executive Management Development Program in Oman, which supports Omanization by training national executives who work in different government departments. He has also helped implement EY's Student Excellence Awards, which recognise Oman's highest achieving students in the fields of accounting and finance, business administration and information technology.
Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Ahmed worked for Petroleum Development Oman LLC (PDO). Ahmed has a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, is a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA, UK), a Chartered Management Accountant (CMA, UK) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA, USA). He has also participated in many leading global tax seminars in the US, UK and UAE.
