Batch Record Reporting System Supports Flexible Production Unes

PharmaSuite v5.2 helps life science companies maintain flexible production lines to respond to changing market demands and cost-effectively manage compliance requirements. With improved agility and production control, operators can create batch records in new and more-efficient ways. Recipe steps can be carried out in parallel by multiple shop-floor operators, and can be freely moved between electronic batch-recording stations or fixed to a specific station. The software also includes native integration with FactoryTalk Historian software and the OSlsoft PI System, which helps pharmaceutical and biotech companies optimize production, improve reporting, and shorten development time. Historian integration automates historical data collection and allows operators to focus on production rather than reporting to reduce human error. The system supports dynamic registration of devices such as laptops and tablets to enable worker mobility and collaboration, while maintaining security.

Improvements Make Process Simulator More Powerful

VMGSim 8.0 features enhancements to its design, user interface, and process modeling technology for more-precise and more-powerful process simulation. The new version includes an innovative environment for characterizing oils based on pseudo-components of paraffin, isoparaffin, olefin, naphthene, and aromatic (PIONA) chemical families to more accurately model light to heavy refinery feeds. A plate-fin heat exchanger rating tool creates models that are more rigorous and predictive. For processes that precipitate asphaltenes from bitumens and heavy oils, the regular solution model with saturates, aromatics, resins, and asphaltenes (SARA) fractions provides estimations for asphaltene yield, precipitation onset, and properties. The hydrates package includes up-to-date published data for hydrate calculations. To quickly and easily estimate the interaction parameters of dynamic viscosity and liquid density models, the OilProp regression utility matches them to experimental data of | oils and their mixtures. Unit operation functionality has been expanded with improved calculations and new unit operations for solids handling focused on gasificiation applications.

The ION Intelligent Reliability application continuously monitors machine sensors to identify normal and abnormal operating conditions. By combining real-time sensor data, archived work orders, and maintenance data, the system determines whether equipment is operating reliably and within normal limits. Granular-level analysis and historical failure data help to determine patterns i that precede failure. A user-friendly and customizable dashboard interface provides a high-level view of the current status and predicted health of assets. With a predictive analytics system in place, plants can reduce unplanned equipment shutdowns and slowdowns, increase asset availability, and prevent safety incidents. Operators and maintenance staff can receive alert notifications by email or text message, as well as set up automatic work requests based on predefined criteria and customized business rules.
