June 28--GOSHEN -- The Fourth of July celebrations are just around the corner, and Goshen's First Fridays' July theme promises to bring an Americana feel to the event with their sixth annual Cruisin' Reunion.

First Fridays, a monthly event organized in downtown Goshen, features live entertainment, food and family-oriented activities. Each month, there is a different theme, and July's theme has been one of the most popular so far, event and media coordinator Kelly Kenny said.

WHAT'S THE CRUISIN' REUNION?

In 2009, then-event coordinator Don Riegsecker introduced the idea of inviting the public to bring their car and drive up and down Main Street, re-living the old cruising days.

Decades ago, Goshen drew one the largest crowds in the country, according to Goshen police. By 1986, police shut down cruising through tougher law enforcement.

Now the cruisin' reunion has become an annual tradition.

On Friday, the community is invited to bring their car and drive around Goshen's downtown from 5 to 9 p.m. No registration is required.
