June 28--The EHOVE Board of Education gave superintendent Sharon Mastroianni a five-year contract extension. It begins Aug. 1 and ends July 31, 2019.
Mastroianni will earn $119,300 a year, the same figure in her current contract.
The agreement is practically identical, with one exception.
Board members will allow Mastroianni to retire by July 31, 2015. Then, they will legally rehire her to the same position through July 2019, according to a new statement included in the contract.
Mastroianni's annual starting salary is $119,300, with annual pay increases. It includes a $50 travel reimbursement per pay period, a $100 smartphone reimbursement per month or $50 for cell phone.
The contract also includes 15 sick days, three personal days and tuition reimbursement for professional development.
In other business, the board hired Steven Snyder of Sandusky as General Maintenance Supervisor and Teresa Hehrer of Huron as Full Time General Maintenance for the 2014-15 school year.
The board also rescinded Erika Kemp's full-time adult education contract and replaced with a part-time adult education contract for the 2014-15 school year.
In other business, the board employed the following: Carolyn Goff, of Vermilion, in Adult Education from Tuesday through June 30, 2015; Kay Schindley, of Monroeville, as a part-time administrative assistant from Sept. 1 through June 30, 2015; Laura Swander, of Sandusky, as part-time in Adult Education from Tuesday through June 30; Cherie Thom, of Bellevue, as a "regular" part-time in Adult Education from Tuesday through June 30, 2015; Mary Stilner, of Clyde from Tuesday, through June 30, 2015; Richard Stombaugh, of Bellevue, as a "regular" part time in Adult Education.
