Comedian Aziz Ansari plans performance at Kirby Center in July

June 28--Comedian and "Parks and Recreation" star Aziz Ansari is bringing his comedy show to the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in Wilkes-Barre.

Ansari's "Modern Romance: A New Comedy" tour will hit the venue at 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 13. Tickets are $39 and go on sale at 10 a.m. today online only at Box office sales will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday.

Ansari debuted his third hour-long stand-up special "Buried Alive" on Netflix in November. Ansari co-stars opposite Amy Poehler in the Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated NBC television series "Parks and Recreation," which is in its seventh season. Ansari's portrayal of government employee Tom Haverford has earned him critical praise as one of Entertainment Weekly's "Breakout TV Stars," TV Guide's "Scene Stealer" and People Magazine's "Funniest Dude in Prime Time" in 2011.

Additionally, Ansari has landed a book deal with The Penguin Press about modern dating and how the basic issues facing a single person -- whom we meet, how we meet them and what happens next -- have been radically altered by new technology.

The comedian has also kept busy in the film world. His voice was featured in the Twentieth Century Fox animated film "Epic," and he made a cameo in "This Is The End," opposite Seth Rogen and James Franco last summer. For more on Ansari, visit
