June 27--A grand jury has indicted a 60-year-old Wichita woman on charges that she was running a city-licensed business as a front for prostitution.
Saundra "Jessie" Lacy is charged with 27 counts of racketeering in promotion of prostitution from 2007 to 2012, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom.
She operated Jessie's Primetime Entertainment at 304 S. Laura, using as many as 20 escorts who accepted credit cards and offered discount coupons to loyal customers, Grissom said.
Lacy had an escort license issued by the city of Wichita, the indictment said.
Customers paid $150 to $185 for services, according to a list of transactions in a court document.
Credit card deposits to Primetime's bank account totaled more than $138,000 between 2009 and August 2012. Credit card transactions listed the nature of business as "massage therapy."
Managers of Primetime would dispatch escorts to a local motel or a customer's hotel for their "dates," court documents said. The dates would last a half hour to one hour.
Jessie's Primetime has a Facebook page, but it hasn't seen any activity since early 2013.
Wichita police and the FBI participated in the investigation.
