June 26, 2014

Ultra Electronics AEP and OpenTrust declared that they have inked support for the highest standard of cryptography modules recently on the market.

Presently, FIPS 140-2 Level 4, is comprised within OpenTrust PKI version 4.8. and it licensed AEP's Keyper Hardware Security Module (HSM).

To the features like: auto-self-destruct of encryption keys should unauthorised access be attempted to the HSM and are available to OpenTrust clients.

For the cryptographic modules, FIPS 140-2 standard is the de-facto international standard and highly guaranteed environments, with Level 4 rendering the highest level of security.

Lorenzo Stranges, Head of Marketing at OpenTrust comments: "Adding AEP to the list of supported HSMs is a valuable addition to our server products, particularly thanks to Keyper accreditation to FIPS 140-2 Level 4, a standard where the very highest level of key protection is required."

Mark Southam, the Ultra Safe Product Manager at AEP adds: "Aligning with OpenTrust will mean that we can bring AEP's Keyper to some of the world's most demanding environments where the highest levels of cryptography are required. FIPS 140-2 Level 4 is the highest bar for cryptography and provides assurance for companies and citizens alike that important data will be kept safe and protected."
