The Financial Times Names Minnesota’s JNBA Financial Advisors to Inaugural 300 Top Registered Investment Advisers List

June 26, 2014

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Financial Times has named JNBA Financial Advisors to its 300 Top Registered Investment Advisers list. To compile the inaugural list, the Financial Times reviewed more than 2,000 independent Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firms with $300 million or more in assets under management (AUM).

The Financial Times graded independent, elite RIA practices on six broad factors and calculated a numeric score for each firm. Areas of consideration included AUM, AUM growth, years the firm has been in existence, industry certifications of staff, SEC compliance record and online accessibility.

“We’re honored to be recognized by the Financial Times, one of the world’s leading business news organizations,” says JNBA Financial Advisors President Kim Brown. “We’re extremely proud of the independent approach to wealth management our firm has pioneered for the past 35 years. This recognition is further reinforcement of just how important it is – for both investors and the industry – to sit on the same side of the table as our clients.” The Financial Times 300 was published in the newspaper’s U.S. edition and on FT.com.

In February, Barron’s named JNBA Financial Advisors’ CEO Richard S. Brown the top financial advisor in Minnesota. Also, for the fifth year in a row, the independent RIA firm has been named to Barron’s list of the 1,200 top advisors in the country.

Also in February, JNBA was named the Mentoring category winner in the 2014 Community Impact Awards presented by Minnesota Business Magazine. The firm was singled out for its efforts to provide the next generation of financial planners with real-world experience by helping to establish one of the nation’s first experiential financial planning learning labs, at the University of MinnesotaDuluth. JNBA has also twice been named one of the nation’s top 100 independent wealth advisors by Barron’s and The Winner’s Circle.* The firm’s commitment to client service has earned it a higher-than-96-percent client retention rate since 2001.
