The Samsung Galaxy S5 Broadband LTE-A smartphone is the first commercial mobile device to feature the Snapdragon 805 processor and Gobi 9x35 LTE Advanced Category 6 modem, enabling Ultra HD video capture and playback, connectivity for mobile web streaming and downloads and a leading-edge graphics and gaming experience for consumers.

The Gobi 9x35, the industry's first commercial 20nm cellular modem and Qualcomm Technologies' fourth generation 3G/LTE multimode modem, is the first commercially available modem to support LTE Advanced carrier aggregation for both LTE TDD and FDD Category 6. The modem is backwards compatible with major cellular technologies including WCDMA /MC-HSPA, CDMA 1x/EVDO Rev. B, GSM/EDGE and TD-SCDMA. The solution also features the WTR3925 transceiver, the mobile industry's first commercial 28nm RF chip, which supports the major 3GPP-approved radio frequency bands and carrier aggregation combinations on a single chip. The LTE Cat 6 device is designed to provide consumers with download speeds of up to 300 Mbps and more efficient power consumption.
