Founder Richard Stone named Chairman of U.C. Berkeley Extension Personal Financial Planning Program

SAN RAFAEL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Financial planning pioneer Richard Stone, founder of Marin County wealth management firm Private Ocean, has been named chairman of the U.C. Berkeley Financial Planning Program Advisory Board. As a longstanding member of the financial planning community, Stone will contribute his years of experience and expertise to further developing the U.C. Berkeley program and helping evolve the discipline of financial planning for future generations.

The U.C. Berkeley Extension’s program in Personal Financial Planning provides an academic path to the financial planning profession. The curriculum is overseen by the advisory board, which includes leaders in the financial planning services industry.

“Excellent financial planning can be a game-changer in people’s lives,” said Stone. “The more we develop the discipline, the more people can experience the kind of confidence and clarity that comes with mapping their financial future.”
