Kenya : WORLD BANK offer ambitious new development strategy for KENYA

On 23 June 2014, the World Bank launched its new development strategy for Kenya aimed at boosting economic growth and making more jobs for young people.

Diarietou Gaye, World Bank Country Director for Kenya said the joint strategy by the Bank, MIGA and IFC was launched as a part of a sustained effort to fulfill Kenya s ambitions of becoming a modern economy.

The five-year partnership strategy which was endorsed by the board on 5 June 2014 will help Kenya devolve power to regional communities to end poverty and share prosperity among all Kenyans. The strategy expects delivering more than US $4 billion in the next five years to support Kenya.

The WB s new strategy is aligned with the government s Vision 2030 priorities, which calls for sustained, fast growth as the key driver in decreasing poverty and making opportunity for all.
